This sturdy, cool-looking woven basket was made in Aizu.
The Oshin basket was named because it resembles the basket used by Oshin in the TV drama "Oshin."
It uses flexible nemagaridake bamboo, which grows stronger after enduring heavy snow. While simple in construction, it features a hexagonal weave that offers excellent ventilation and a cool aesthetic.

The "warabikago" is a basket woven from finely split madake bamboo from Ibaraki Prefecture.
As its name suggests, it is a tool born from daily life, used since ancient times for harvesting wild vegetables and mushrooms. Every step of its creation is carefully done by hand.
The bottom is square for stability, and the body has a beautiful curve for easy carrying. The handles are woven from the bottom up to ensure durability when carrying heavy items.
As natural materials are used, the bamboo colors may vary, but over time they will age into a beautiful golden hue.
Black spots may be seen on the surface of the bamboo, but please understand that these are not mold. Also, the appearance will vary depending on the part of the bamboo used, but please understand this as a characteristic of natural materials.

This golden lacquerware, "Shunkei-nuri," which utilizes the wood grain, is light and easy for even children to carry. Its durability and practicality are also among its features.

The seams are sewn together with thin strips of cherry bark. The cherry bark, sewn with the craftsman's skill, beautifully adorns it.
A "Menpa" refers to a wooden magewappa (bentwood) bento box. It is said that the word originated from "men (face) ga utsuru hodo kirei na wappa" (a beautiful wappa that reflects your face).

The tray colanders made on Sado Island are known as "gozame-ami" (mat-weave),
and are characterized by their meticulous, fine, and beautiful weave.
They can be stacked for storage,
making them very convenient and space-saving!
They will surely come in handy if you have them in different sizes.
In addition to kitchen tasks,
they are also lovely to use as beautiful Japanese baskets for holding fruits or other items.
Furthermore, the rim is reinforced with wire as a core, wrapped multiple times with rattan at different positions,
and then wrapped again from the opposite direction to make it durable.
It results in a sturdy, rounded rim
that is gentle on the hands.
