This is a rectangular bamboo sieve made from high-quality madake bamboo from Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture.
Basin sieves made on Sado Island are characterized by their delicate, fine, and beautiful weave, known as goza-me ami.
They can be stacked for storage,
making them very convenient and not bulky! Having different sizes would be useful.
They are not only useful for kitchen tasks but also make beautiful Japanese baskets for holding fruit.
