Wild Grapevine Basket Bag - Thick Ajiro Weave (Large)

Yukihiko Tsutsui's Wild Grapevine Basket Bag

Not overly formal, making it easy to carry and versatile to match.
These basket bags truly reflect Mr. Tsutsui's simple and unaffected personality.

This is a large-sized bag woven with thick Ajiro weave.
The bold yet delicate and beautiful craftsmanship can truly be said to be Mr. Tsutsui's forte.

"Wild Grapevine Basket Bags" Made in a Satoyama Village in Nagano Prefecture.

These are all handmade by Yukihiko Tsutsui of "Yamabudo Kobo Tsutsui," starting from the cutting of the wild grapevine vines that serve as the material.
The baskets made by Mr. Tsutsui utilize the natural vines, dynamically weaving in their original curves, thicknesses, and slenderness, creating a deep and rich texture.

Unlike many overseas-made products where the vines are boiled midway through, causing them to lose their oils and often fail to develop a luster even after extensive use, Mr. Tsutsui's wild grapevine baskets are soaked in water and meticulously woven.
They are strong and grow more beautiful with each use.

These boldly woven baskets, exuding the strength of nature, are easy to carry for both casual and elegant occasions, and suit any person or place. No two wild grapevine baskets made from natural materials are alike.
We offer you a beautiful, one-of-a-kind encounter.

With a sturdy flat bottom and ample gusset, it offers excellent storage capacity.

The handle's joint, a characteristic of Mr. Tsutsui's work.
It is designed with strength in mind.

The gusset is firmly woven and robust, maintaining its shape.
The flat bottom prevents items from shifting.

By using natural vines, holes and variations in color are perceived as beautiful textures.

By carefully cutting with scissors instead of a cutter, the inside also achieves a durable and beautiful finish.

The rounded handle prevents discomfort when worn on the arm.

【To Customers Purchasing a Wild Grapevine Basket】

Wild grapevine baskets, depending on storage conditions, may develop mold or insect damage.
Being natural material, wild grapevine baskets absorb necessary humidity and release excess moisture. We recommend storing them in a well-ventilated, low-humidity place.
Even when not in use, we suggest enjoying them as an interior decoration or storage basket in your room.

※In case of insect damage

Mr. Tsutsui can beautifully repair the basket by replacing the damaged vines.
Repairs are free of charge if purchased within one year.
For baskets older than one year, repairs are possible for a fee (approximately 5000 yen and up, depending on the extent of the damage).
Please note that you will also be responsible for the round-trip shipping costs in such cases.
