This is a wild grape vine basket bag made in a satoyama village in Nagano Prefecture. This is a macaron-shaped bag woven with fine netting. The bold yet delicate and beautiful handiwork is truly Mr. Tsutsui's true expertise.





These are all handmade by Yukihiro Tsutsui of "Yama Budou Kobo Tsutsui," starting from cutting the wild grape vines that serve as the material. Mr. Tsutsui's baskets make the most of natural vines, dynamically weaving in the original curves, thickness, and thinness of the vines, creating a deep and rich texture. While many items made overseas are boiled midway through, causing them to lose their oils and not develop a sheen with use, Mr. Tsutsui's wild grape vine baskets, which are soaked in water and carefully woven, are strong and grow more beautiful with use. The boldly woven baskets, which exude the power of nature, are easy to carry for both casual and elegant occasions, and do not choose the person or place. No two wild grape vine baskets, made by utilizing nature, are exactly alike. We offer a beautiful encounter with a one-of-a-kind item.

Wild grape vine baskets may develop mold or insect damage depending on storage conditions. Wild grape vine baskets, made from natural materials, absorb necessary humidity and release excess moisture. We recommend storing them in a well-ventilated and low-humidity place whenever possible. Even when not in use, we recommend enjoying them in your room as interior decor or as a storage basket.

Mr. Tsutsui can replace the vines and repair them beautifully. Repairs are free of charge within one year of purchase. For baskets older than one year, there will be a repair fee (approximately 5,000 yen or more, depending on the extent of the damage), but repairs are possible. Please note that you will be responsible for the round-trip shipping fees in such cases.
