Wild Grape Vine Basket Bag - Fine Ajiro Weave (Medium)

Yukihiko Tsutsui's wild grape vine basket bags are easy to carry and match because they aren't too formal.
These basket bags embody Mr. Tsutsui's simple and honest personality.

This "wild grape vine basket bag" was made in a satoyama (foothill village) in Nagano Prefecture.
This is a medium-sized bag woven with fine ajiro weave.
The bold yet delicate and beautiful craftsmanship is truly Mr. Tsutsui's forte.

These bags are entirely handmade by Yukihiko Tsutsui of "Yamabudou Kobo Tsutsui," starting from cutting the wild grape vines used as material.
Mr. Tsutsui's baskets leverage the natural characteristics of the vines, dynamically weaving their inherent curves, thicknesses, and slenderness to create a deep, rich aesthetic.
While many items made overseas have their vines boiled midway, which removes their oils and prevents them from gaining luster with use, Mr. Tsutsui's wild grape vine baskets, which are soaked in water and carefully woven, are strong and grow more beautiful with use.
These boldly woven baskets, exuding the power of nature, are easy to carry for both casual and elegant occasions, suiting any person or place.
No two wild grape vine baskets, made by utilizing nature, are alike.
We deliver a beautiful, one-of-a-kind encounter.

With a square bottom and a sturdy gusset, it has more storage capacity than it appears.

The handle joint is a distinctive feature of Mr. Tsutsui's work, designed for strength.

The gusset is firmly woven and strong enough to maintain its shape. The square bottom keeps contents from shifting.

By using natural vines, differences in holes and colors become part of its beautiful charm.

By carefully cutting with scissors instead of a cutter, the inside is also sturdy and beautifully finished.

The rounded handle ensures it won't hurt your arm when you carry it.

【To Customers Purchasing Wild Grape Vine Baskets】
Wild grape vine baskets can develop mold or insect damage depending on storage conditions.
Being a natural material, wild grape vine baskets absorb necessary humidity and release excess moisture.
We recommend storing them in a well-ventilated, low-humidity environment whenever possible.
Even when not in use, we suggest enjoying them as interior decor or storage baskets in your room.
※In case of insect damage
Mr. Tsutsui can beautifully repair the basket by replacing the damaged vines.
Repairs are free of charge if purchased within one year.
For baskets older than one year, repairs are possible, but a repair fee (approximately 5,000 yen and up, depending on the extent of the damage) will apply. Please also note that you will be responsible for the round-trip shipping costs in such cases.
