The ribbed part, made of wool and cotton, extends all the way to the knee. This is "NAGAI KUTSUSHITA" (Long Socks).
A warm, long ribbed sock that completely covers the knees. This volume and length, which seemed to be missing until now, will be a strong ally against the cold. Hōsōge (imaginary flower) is a decorative pattern motif of an imaginary flower.
It was widely used in Buddhist art, architecture, and crafts during China's Tang dynasty and Japan's Nara and Heian periods.
The main bead, ten beads, and bosa bead are smoky quartz with cherry blossom carvings.

This time, a connection was made with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and ritualistic goods store in Gifu City, which allowed for the custom production of a juzu.
As a "Kyoto Juzu Authorized Dealer," Mr. Nakajima's juzu are meticulously handcrafted, with each step performed manually.
After numerous discussions about the choice of materials and color combinations, an elegant and beautiful juzu was created.
I want to own a juzu that will last a lifetime, one that brings peace and purification to my heart whenever I hold it, not just during Buddhist ceremonies.

The Bodhi tree is a sacred tree under which Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment, and its fruit, the Hoshizuki Bodhi seed, has been treasured as a material for juzu since ancient times.
What is Hoshizuki Bodhi seed?
The Bodhi tree is where Buddha attained enlightenment. Bodhi seeds are considered exceptional among juzu materials, and this name was given because the black spots on the surface of the white seeds resemble stars and the small depressions resemble the moon. They are comfortable to hold and develop a deeper, richer color with age, allowing you to enjoy their evolving character. They are considered one of the three sacred trees in Buddhism, believed to bring immeasurable blessings and the greatest benefits.
They are said to have the power to bring purification, tranquility, harmony, tolerance, and guide one to a higher will.
Hoshizuki Bodhi seeds are characterized by their lightness and comfortable feel.
Ryumon Agate, also known as Dragon Agate, is a type of agate characterized by dragon-scale patterns.
The oyadama (main bead), niten-dama (disc beads), and bosa-dama (connecting bead) are made of Ryumon Agate.
By coordinating the Hoshizuki Bodhi seed juzu with a gentle impression in similar colors, the result is an elegant and profound finish.
Since ancient times, it has been believed to possess the power of a dragon, and has been treasured as a power stone symbolizing protection from evil, warding off misfortune, good luck, success, and advancement.
This juzu is made with slightly larger beads, with a main bead size of 16mm and an oyadama (parent bead) size of 18mm. It has a dignified finish and is recommended for larger individuals.

Nakajima Butsudan-ten
As I've gotten older, I've come to want a high-quality, beautiful juzu as one of the refinements of adulthood.
This time, a connection was made with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and ritual item shop in Gifu City, and my wish for a custom-made juzu was granted.
The juzu made by Mr. Nakajima, who strives daily as an "authorized Kyoto Juzu dealer," are all handmade one by one.
Through repeated consultations on material selection and color matching for the juzu, an elegant and beautiful juzu has been completed.
I hope to own a juzu that will last a lifetime, one that soothes and purifies the heart just by holding it, not only during Buddhist ceremonies.

Eighty years ago, Mr. Sotomura conceived of a chair pad called "Kurashiki Knotting." Its robust and minimalist construction means it can last 50 years, or even a lifetime if well-maintained. When placed on a cold wooden chair in winter, it protects your bottom from the chill.
Kurashiki Knotting was created when sitting on the floor was still the norm in Japan. It was born with an eye toward a future lifestyle that would involve chairs. Since the weft is wool, it has a thick finish, making it comfortable to sit on and loved by many users. It is an item you will want to cherish and use for a long time.
Wool has strong resilience, so it won't flatten out.
Furthermore, its warmth is a key characteristic. Like a rug, it is tightly and firmly woven, so it takes years to soften.
Even after about 10 years of use, it still looks nearly new, and it won't show signs of wear until it has been sat on for even longer.
Kurashiki Knotting is a chair pad that has been continuously made for 80 years, using hand-weaving looms and designs conceived by Kichinosuke Sotomura, the first director of the Kurashiki Folk Craft Museum.
The Kurashiki Hand-Dyeing and Hand-Weaving Research Institute was established in 1956 and exists as part of the folk craft movement. It teaches hand-weaving, spinning, dyeing, etc., and creates items with a healthy, unpretentious beauty that are functional in daily life. Kurashiki Knotting is one such item. Wool threads are tied one by one to the warp threads. It is warm, durable, and will serve you well for a long time.
The user's individuality is welcome, but the maker's individuality is unnecessary.
Kurashiki Knotting can be called the culmination of Kichinosuke Sotomura's craftsmanship. Its enduring appeal, beloved even as times change, is supported by the will of the makers, passed down carefully from generation to generation.
