A long-selling product that received the Good Design Award in 1996 and the Long Life Design Award in 2021.
The design, which is both modern and classic, was born from the desire for various types of cuisine—Western, Japanese, Chinese, and Italian—to grace the dining table.
Also recommended as a gift for housewarmings or for those starting a new life.
You can enjoy the differences in texture that come from the unique grain of each piece, finished as natural wood.
Because it's a slightly larger size, it can be used for various dishes in addition to miso soup,
such as tonjiru (pork and vegetable miso soup), stew, and serving hot pot.
A substantial bowl that enhances dishes and pairs well with Western cuisine.
From the blades used for carving, artisans handcraft each tool, and without compromise, every product is imbued with the spirit of its maker.
■About urethane coating

LINE UP
Keyaki (Zelkova)
Keyaki, with its red to yellow hues, has been a familiar material in Japan for centuries,
used in bowls, trays, and shrine pillars. The distinct winter and summer growth rings
create a characteristic wood grain.
Kurumi (Walnut)
Compared to "walnut," renowned as a material for Western furniture,
kurumi has a faint pinkish hue, giving it a slightly softer appearance.
Kuri (Chestnut)
Light and durable, chestnut has long been valued for cutting boards and house foundations,
especially in areas exposed to water. Its white to yellowish wood grain is perfect for a bright
dining table.
Nara (Oak)
Nara, known for its hard, substantial wood that bears acorns, is primarily used as a building material (oak wood).
Its rugged and heavy nature gives it a more masculine feel.
With its yellow to brown tones, it blends well with oak furniture,
making it suitable for a stylishly arranged dining table.
Sakura (Cherry)
Sakura, the green of its leaves and pink of its petals, is reflected in its wood grain.
It is the most popular wood type, allowing you to truly feel the wood grain, and it has the smoothest texture.

Nakajima Butsudan-ten
This time, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and ritual implement store in Gifu City, to create custom-made prayer beads.
The prayer beads made by Mr. Nakajima, who works diligently as an "Authorized Kyoto Juzu Retailer," are all handcrafted, one by one.
After numerous discussions regarding the selection of materials and color combinations, an elegant and beautiful set of prayer beads was completed.
I hope to own a lifelong set of prayer beads that not only serves its purpose during Buddhist rituals but also brings a sense of calm and purification to my heart when I hold them.

BAN INOUE
CAYA Mosquito Net Cotton Cloth
This kaya cloth, made by layering 100% cotton mosquito net fabric, offers excellent absorbency, a pleasant feel, and quick-drying properties.
Kaya (mosquito net) has been woven as a traditional local industry in Nara since the Edo period. Utilizing its coarse weave, we created this beautiful and functional 100% cotton cloth.
The convenient large size of 58x58cm makes it exceptionally easy to use.
Initially, it's stiff due to starch, but with each wash and use, it transforms into a soft and gentle texture.
Kaya has excellent water absorption, quick-drying, and breathability.
Therefore, it quickly absorbs water, dries fast, is resistant to unpleasant odors, and is hygienic.
At 58x58cm, this large size can thoroughly wipe even large plates.
It can be used in various ways, such as a small towel, a lunch box wrap, for covering, hanging, wrapping, or rolling.
【Kaya (Mosquito Net)】
---Kaya refers to a coarsely woven fabric. The character "蚊" (ka, mosquito) is included because it was originally used as an insect repellent cloth.
BAN INOUE's commitment is to 100% cotton, vibrantly colored kaya.
【Features of Kaya Fabric】
---Kaya was originally hung as a mosquito repellent while sleeping.
It is a coarsely woven, well-ventilated fabric.
Woven with wide gaps between threads to allow air circulation, it is extremely light and highly flexible.
However, as a woven fabric, it has no elasticity.
【Appeal of Kaya Fabric】
---Once the "starch" used in weaving washes out, the individual fibers of each thread spread out, revealing the natural softness of cotton.
As the fine fibers intertwine, the material becomes even more skin-friendly, transforming into a soft, light, and airy fabric.
It can be safely used by those with sensitive skin and children.
Vibrant Colors
To highlight the clean and beautiful texture of kaya fabric, we meticulously dye it in colors inspired by traditional Japanese hues such as wisteria and yamabuki (golden yellow).
Absorbent, Quick-Drying, Breathable
Kaya has excellent water absorption, quick-drying, and breathability. Therefore, it quickly absorbs water, dries fast, is resistant to unpleasant odors, and is hygienic.
Safe Natural Material: 100% Cotton
To bring out the softness of kaya, we use no synthetic fibers, only 100% cotton. All manufacturing is done in Japan.
