The "Suri-urushi" (rubbed lacquer) painting technique, where lacquer is rubbed into hinoki cypress wood,

causes the lacquer to gradually blend in and become semi-transparent with use,

further enhancing the beautiful grain of the hinoki cypress.

The enjoyment of the color changing as you continue to use it

is unique to lacquerware.

Crafted from the nature of Kiso and the refined skills of artisans,

◎ Dishwashers can be used, but do not use a dryer. Not microwave or oven safe. Store away from direct sunlight.
◎ As natural wood is used, each piece will have a unique grain. Also, due to the nature of lacquer, there may be individual differences in color and finish. Please be aware of this.
