Kurashiki Knotting is a hand-woven textile and design conceived by Kichinosuke Sotomura, the first director of the Kurashiki Folk Craft Museum, and has been continuously produced as a chair mat for 80 years.

The Kurashiki Honzome Hand-weaving Research Institute was founded in 1956 and exists as part of the Mingei movement.
It teaches hand-weaving, spinning, dyeing, etc., and creates healthy, unpretentious beautiful objects that can be used in daily life.

Kurashiki Knotting is one such item.
Woolen threads are individually tied to the warp threads and woven.
It is warm, durable, and will serve you well for a long time.

The individuality of the user is welcome, but the individuality of the maker is unnecessary.

Kurashiki Knotting can be called the culmination of Kichinosuke Sotomura's craftsmanship.
Its beloved appearance, which has remained unchanged through the ages, was supported by the wishes of makers who carefully passed it down from generation to generation.

The design is subtle enough not to be noticeable when placed.

The pattern chosen varies from person to person; it's important for the user to choose a chair mat that suits them, as it will be used for a long time.
