How to care for wool
◎ Machine washable
JOHA wool can be machine washed with ease. There's no need to worry about shrinkage if you wash it in a laundry net with a neutral detergent on a 'delicate cycle'.
*Caution* Please use a neutral detergent suitable for wool.
◎Color transfer and aging
Wool takes dye well. In other words, it's prone to color transfer. We recommend washing with similar colors.
Wool is a living material. Over time, it will gradually develop a yellowish tint, acquiring a unique texture characteristic of natural materials. Please avoid using chlorine-based bleaches, as they can intensify the yellowing.
◎Storage method
The protein contained in animal fibers like wool and silk can become food for pests.
Pests love sweat, dirt, and food stain residue, which can lead to moth damage. Make sure to thoroughly remove any unseen food stains or sweat by soaking and washing before storing. Ironing with a press cloth is also a good idea to protect against pests.

This item harnesses wool's natural properties to be warm in winter and cool in summer.
A moderate fit that isn't too constricting. Highly elastic, the elastic fits snugly around the leg, yet remains comfortable without tightening.
Because it uses fine 18-19 micron threads, which are among the highest quality merino wool, it feels gentle and pleasant on the skin, similar to underwear.
Merino wool socks offer warmth and absorbency depending on the season and body temperature. They also boast excellent antibacterial and deodorizing properties, and the fact that they can be machine washed at home is another great feature.

How to care for wool

This time, through a connection with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and ritual item store in Gifu City, I was able to have custom juzu beads made.
Mr. Nakajima, who strives daily as an authorized "Kyo-nenju" (Kyoto juzu) dealer, handcrafts each set of juzu beads.
After numerous meetings to select the materials and colors for the juzu, a refined and beautiful set of juzu beads was created.
I want to have a set of juzu beads that will last a lifetime, beads that soothe and purify the mind not only during Buddhist ceremonies, but every time I hold them.
