Nakajima Butsudan-ten (Buddhist Altar Shop)
This time, I was fortunate to connect with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and implement store in Gifu City, and my wish to have custom-made prayer beads was granted.
The prayer beads made by Mr. Nakajima, who strives daily as an "authorized Kyoto Juzu (prayer beads) dealer," are all handcrafted, one by one.
After numerous discussions about the choice of materials and color combinations for the prayer beads, an elegant and beautiful set of prayer beads was created.
I want to own a set of prayer beads that will last a lifetime, beads that will calm and purify my heart not only during Buddhist services but also whenever I hold them.
What is Hōsōge (imaginary flower)?
Hōsōge (imaginary flower) is a decorative pattern motif of an imaginary flower.
It was widely used in Buddhist art, architecture, and crafts during China's Tang dynasty and Japan's Nara and Heian periods.
The main bead, ten beads, and bosa bead are smoky quartz with cherry blossom carvings.
Although this rosary has a very rare and elaborate design, the use of similar colors gives it an elegant and substantial finish.
It has a dignified finish and is also recommended for larger individuals.
Comes in a paulownia wood box for safe storage.

As I've grown older, I've started wanting a high-quality, beautiful juzu (rosary) as one of the refinements for adults.
This time, a connection was made with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and ritualistic goods store in Gifu City, which allowed for the custom production of a juzu.
As a "Kyoto Juzu Authorized Dealer," Mr. Nakajima's juzu are meticulously handcrafted, with each step performed manually.
After numerous discussions about the choice of materials and color combinations, an elegant and beautiful juzu was created.
I want to own a juzu that will last a lifetime, one that brings peace and purification to my heart whenever I hold it, not just during Buddhist ceremonies.
