How to care for wool
◎ Machine washable
JOHA wool is machine washable, saving you the hassle of hand-washing. Simply put it in a laundry net and wash with a neutral detergent on a "delicate cycle" to prevent shrinkage.
*Please note: Use a neutral detergent suitable for wool.
◎ Color transfer and aging
Wool has excellent dyeability. In other words, it is a material that easily transfers color. We recommend washing with similar colors.
Wool is a living material. Over time, it will gradually take on a yellowish tint, developing the unique texture of a natural material. Avoid using chlorine-based bleaches, as they can intensify the yellowing.
◎ Storage method
The proteins contained in animal fibers like wool and silk can become food for pests.
Pests love sweat, dirt, and food stains, which can lead to moth damage. Be sure to thoroughly remove any invisible food stains or sweat with a pre-soak before storing. Ironing with a press cloth is also one idea to protect against pests.
