What is Hoshizuki Bodhi seed?
The Bodhi tree is where Buddha attained enlightenment. Bodhi seeds are considered exceptional among juzu materials, and this name was given because the black spots on the surface of the white seeds resemble stars and the small depressions resemble the moon. They are comfortable to hold and develop a deeper, richer color with age, allowing you to enjoy their evolving character. They are considered one of the three sacred trees in Buddhism, believed to bring immeasurable blessings and the greatest benefits.
They are said to have the power to bring purification, tranquility, harmony, tolerance, and guide one to a higher will.
Hoshizuki Bodhi seeds are characterized by their lightness and comfortable feel.
Ryumon Agate, also known as Dragon Agate, is a type of agate characterized by dragon-scale patterns.
The oyadama (main bead), niten-dama (disc beads), and bosa-dama (connecting bead) are made of Ryumon Agate.
By coordinating the Hoshizuki Bodhi seed juzu with a gentle impression in similar colors, the result is an elegant and profound finish.
Since ancient times, it has been believed to possess the power of a dragon, and has been treasured as a power stone symbolizing protection from evil, warding off misfortune, good luck, success, and advancement.
This juzu is made with slightly larger beads, with a main bead size of 16mm and an oyadama (parent bead) size of 18mm. It has a dignified finish and is recommended for larger individuals.
Comes in a paulownia wood box. Can be stored with care.
Nakajima Butsudan-ten
As I've gotten older, I've come to want a high-quality, beautiful juzu as one of the refinements of adulthood.
This time, a connection was made with Nakajima Butsudan-ten, a Buddhist altar and ritual item shop in Gifu City, and my wish for a custom-made juzu was granted.
The juzu made by Mr. Nakajima, who strives daily as an "authorized Kyoto Juzu dealer," are all handmade one by one.
Through repeated consultations on material selection and color matching for the juzu, an elegant and beautiful juzu has been completed.
I hope to own a juzu that will last a lifetime, one that soothes and purifies the heart just by holding it, not only during Buddhist ceremonies.
