It is said that lacquer reaches its hardest state 100 years after application, and complete hardening takes many years. "Echizen Hard Lacquer" is a lacquer that can withstand dishwashers, achieving a hard coating through industry-academia-government collaboration with Fukui Prefecture and Fukui University.
The "Shin-nuri technique," which completes the coating in a single application, involves filtering the lacquer multiple times to carefully remove dust and applying it without leaving brush marks.
