Echizen Katabone Urushi
Lacquer is said to reach its hardest point 100 years after application, and complete hardening takes many years. "Echizen Katabone Urushi" is a lacquer developed through industry-academia-government collaboration with Fukui Prefecture and Fukui University, achieving a hard coating film that can withstand dishwashers.
The "Shin-nuri technique," which completes the coating film in a single application, involves filtering the lacquer repeatedly to carefully remove dust and applying it without leaving brush marks.
"Echizen Katabone Urushi" is finished in unique shapes and beautiful colors to suit modern eating habits, and can be used as everyday tableware.
