This dishwasher-safe lacquer was developed after repeated experiments. It uses 100% natural lacquer without any chemical coatings.
*Not for microwave use.
With a slightly larger capacity than standard soup bowls, it's perfect for soups with plenty of ingredients. It can also be used for white rice, simmered dishes, or dressed salads.
"Asakura-wan" inheriting traditional shapes
A stable shape with a large, sturdy base. The wide, flared rim makes it easy to drink from and comfortable to hold.
While maintaining a traditional form, its key feature is higher heat resistance and durability compared to conventional lacquerware.

Echizen Hardened Lacquer (Echizen Kata-urushi)
Lacquer is said to reach its hardest state 100 years after application, requiring a long time to fully cure. "Echizen Hardened Lacquer" achieves a hard coating through collaboration between industry, academia, and government in Fukui Prefecture and Fukui University, making it durable enough for dishwashers.
The "Maturi technique" (true coating method), which finishes the coating in a single application, involves filtering the lacquer repeatedly to carefully remove dust and applying it without leaving brush marks.
"Echizen Hardened Lacquer" is finished with a unique shape and beautiful colors to fit modern eating habits, making it suitable for everyday use as tableware.
