Odate Magewappa is a bentwood craft from Odate City, Akita Prefecture, designated as a Traditional Craft by the Foundation for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries in 1980.
Using Akita cedar, "Odate Magewappa" has been produced for 2000 years without changing its manufacturing method. The unique texture of the wood, the beauty of its straight grain, and its high functionality enrich both life and spirit.
